About The II Edition
II Edition Bio:
In the early 90's Gene & Terry (formerly the Polka Partners) started up the II Edition with daughter's Tammy & Tanya & son-in-law Joel. They enjoyed time together as a family playing weddings, public dances, and polka worship services. After taking a swing job, Joel had to leave the band so we recruited friend Dan to take over on the drums.
Now, as time moved on, the polka worship services were a big hit. We recorded three Cd's, Almost All In the Family-Polkas; Praise Him with Polkas-Christian; and We Have Come Into His House-Christian. We weren't just a band anymore, we were a group of family & friends sharing Gods word with our God given talents.
Tragically in 2005 daughter, sister, and friend Tammy Matz, was taken home to Heaven. (They always need new angels in the band.) After much time & thought the band decided to continue praising God in her memory. We brought in another friend to play trumpet, Dale.
After a few years, Tanya's son Tyler (at age 7) started to travel & sing with the band. He released his first recording with us in 2010 & does a great job as our manager.
In the fall of 2013, Tanya and Tyler decided to leave the band. They wanted more family time and time for Sunday School and Worship at our own church- St. Paul Lutheran, Wittenberg. Although we miss their presence and talent very much, we do understand their want for more family time together. So, now we've brought in another friend to play keyboard, Bud. In July of 2018, Dan decided to retire from playing after 20 + years. So we have been using a combination of old friends and made some new friends to fill his spot.
Even Tootz and I have talked about slowing down, but it seems God has a different plan.
The band still travels playing some 30 polka worship services a year. We always tell the congregation that we hope you not only enjoy our music, but that you receive a special spiritual message as well.
